Abstract
Unified communications is an emerging market, fragmented in definition, as well as in functionality. Wainhouse Research and In-Stat have compiled the first comprehensive, worldwide forecast for the unified communications products and unified communications services market. This detailed forecast includes products and/or services from the following segments:

-Presence and instant messaging (including mobile UC clients)
-Telephony (PBXs—IP and TDM, IP Centrex, and broadband VoIP)
-Audio conferencing (bridges and bridging services)
-Web collaboration (premise-based and hosted solutions)
 -Team workspaces (premise-based)
 -Unified messaging
-Videoconferencing (bridges, bridging services, group and desktop endpoints, and telepresence)

We have created two forecast documents to reflect the broad nature of the unified communications market: the UC Products Forecast and the UC Services Forecast. This document contains the UC products market forecast. The entire unified communications product market will be $8.8 billion in 2007, growing to $24.2 billion by 2012.
